Members Reserve La Reyna Blanca Chardonnay
This single vineyard 2020 Jaine Chardonnay was crafted from La Reyna Blanca in the Royal Slope AVA. The vineyard is fully sustainable and uses organic farming methods, whenever possible. The vineyards were hand-harvested early in the morning throughout September. Upon arriving at the winery, the vineyard lot was hand-sorted and whole-cluster pressed. The wine was aged for 22 months in both new (56%) and used (44%) French oak barrels. Bottling took place in August of 2022 with only 206 cases produced.
Tasting Notes
The 2020 Jaine ‘Members Reserve’ La Reyna Blanca Chardonnay shows an electric light yellow in the glass. Its 22-month élevage in partially new French oak shows in the cinnamon stick aromas that mingle with ripe pear and buttercream. On the rich, full-bodied palate, pineapple, honeysuckle and salted caramel are layered on a decidedly saline and pomaceous finish, leaving lingering warm spice flavors.
